The best known application in the case of a single color multi-sector equipment is to take multiple pictures of the same scene illuminated from different angles to generate different shadows.
In the following example, an ALB1716A ringlight with 4 independent sectors is used to take four images of the same piece illuminated from four different angles.
With the 4 resulting images, using the “shape from shade” or “photometric stereo”technique will allow to obtain an image of the relief of the part ignoring its silkscreen (#Result 1) and vice versa (Result #2).

The flexibility achieved with iBlueDrive2 opens up a wide range of possibilities and new solutions easily and without the need for external controllers or complicated configurations.
Multisector or multispectral equipment is available in rings, darkfields, domes and illumination bars.
You can also use several individual devices using the Bulk-Trigger feature to achieve multi-spectral or multi-directional lighting.
By using the iBlueDrive Box you can make it even easier to generate the pulses needed for image acquisition, as well as simulate pulses manually to test different system configurations.
